It’s no secret that buying second-hand furniture is the most sustainable choice when it comes to shopping, but digging through piles of old brick-a-brack can be time-consuming and exhausting.

Not to mention, many second-hand shops can be hit and miss when it comes to quality, with more second-rate shab than second-hand chic.

Finding the real diamonds in the rough can be quite the challenge.

In this article, we’ve done the hard work for you.

Read on to discover our favourite thrifty hot spots in Adelaide - hand-picked so you can skip the knick-knacks and novelty items and head straight to where the real vintage treasures can be found.

Top second-hand furniture stores

While op-shopping and market scouring can be a fun experience, furniture can be a bit hit and miss.

On the other hand, boutique second-hand furniture stores hand-pick their items and check on their condition before bringing them in store. This gives you an added sense of quality assurance.

The salespeople also usually have a good knowledge of the history and design of all the pieces available - so you can ask questions before you commit to buying.

If this approach feels a little more up your street, add these pre-loved furniture stores in Adelaide to your visit list.

Parker’s Secondhand Goods Warehouse

From sofas to washing machines and everything in between, Parker’s Secondhand Goods Warehouse is a treasure trove for thrifty shoppers.
